A very nice phone, seen as what it's made for! September 9, 2003 Patrik Andersson (Stockholm Sweden) 15 out of 18 found this review helpful
I have now owned this phone for a couple of months and am very pleased with its performances. One of the main reasons for me buying it was the impressive stand-by time. I have measured the actual time several times and it has always reached 300 hours +, a very impressive figure! The features of the phone might be a bit few but the voice-memo, almanac and the GPS fast connection features are all really great and useful. Although Sony Ericsson got a colour display it doesn't have the best resolution even though it's all right for most user. You can add pictures popping up when your mom, dad or wife call that is rather nice too (and a own melody for each person), but once again, the resolution not the best out there and especially photos tend to be a bit too grainy. Clearly this is not a phone for younger people searching for all the latest games (which is a very poor feature on this phone), cameras or whatever. It's just a well-crafted, well-performing phone to use a very long time ahead chosen for the need of consistency rather than a need for all the latest stuff. The Blue tooth technique is nice, but yet to unknown and lacking of compability to be really useful. A writer complained about the handling of it as bad. In my mind it's extremely easy to get a long with, with an intuitive and logical map structure. Even though looks aren't everything, you'll probably wont find a more well-crafted and stylish phone from this joint Swedish-Japanese company out there! To end this review; one should always ask oneself whether you would like to have a Phone (with some practical and useful basic features) or a multimedia counterpart with myriads of buttons, games, sounds and lights. If you prefer the former buy this solid quality phone from Sony Ericsson, otherwise choose another phone! I give the phone it self 5 out of 5 and the amount of overall and "cool" features 3 out of 5 stars.
What a star! September 29, 2003 Douglas Proctor (UK) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I have just got this phone and I am really pleased with it. I am using a bluetooth headset, something my Nokia 7650 wouldn't do, and it is a dream to set up and use. Also I like the size, my other phone felt like a brick compared to this. The only down side was the sounds, I would like to see polyphonic sounds but we can't have everything! Recommended to one and all. Considering this phone is quite old by comparison to what's now on the market, it was way ahead of its time when first released.
T68 December 6, 2003 Stephen Banks 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I got my t68 a few months ago, and my oh my, it is good! The screen is clear and the backlight is very bright in the dark. The inclusion of bluetooth on the phone hasn't proved of much use for me, but I'm sure some people will find this a most useful resource. The T68 has lots of accessories. Browsing Amazon, I found a laser pointer and a LED torch that clipped onto the bottom of the phone. Cameras, radios, mp3 players, bluetooth headsets, etc, all available for the phone, all-in-all, making it a very upgradeable phone. I haven't had any difficulties yet, except for the fact that the menus are a little slow and the fact that I can't open it up (or haven't figured it out yet). As if I'd want to. The T68 seems to be a very sturdy phone. It does creak a little when pressing the buttons, but it is very nice to work with. The joystick is a little hard to get used to, but with use, it becomes a joy to use. There are eight games on my phone (some have more, like tennis, etc), and these keep my quite occupied when I'm travelling long distances. Erix (a jezzball clone) is very addictive and enjoyable with the joystick. The T68 looks very cute and it is very light. The battery weighs next to nothing, and when I picked up my old 3310, I nearly dropped it due to its weight. The jog-dial on the side is rarely used on my phone, but like bluetooth, some people will find it very useful. The screen is great. 256 colours and a resolution of 101x80, it is very easy to find logos on the internet, and free if you get an infrared adapter, bluetooth adapter or data cable for your PC. I'll be getting one soon to add some free logos onto the phone, as well as syncronising my phone with Outlook, and also adding contacts easily via the PC. The options menu is a little limited, but has nice touches like contrast adjuster and voice control. The sound is good (although I was rather dissapointed when I found out that although the T68 can record voices, sounds, etc, it doesn't have polyphonic ringtones. I was also shocked to find that this phone has T9 text input, but the Sony Ericsson P800, with retail costs of up to £400, doesn't. Come on Sony Ericsson, you need to get you priorities right. The ringtones are poor, there are no ringtones I can relate to. It doesn't even have a normal "ring ring" tone. Although this is easy to program in, it is poor to be left out. When you switch the phone on, it makes an annoying tone as well. This also happens when you turn the phone off. The status option is very very useful (it tells you how much time you have left on the battery), and the GPRS is good. One review I saw about the phone said that the phone lost signal a lot. This is rubbish. When I was in school, it lost its signal, but so had every other kid's phone. This phone is excellent value, sleek and light, with really great features. Comes highly recommended for anyone who wants a phone, full stop.
Very Good November 28, 2003 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
The T68i is a great phone that has superb looks. It is also very small and easy to use. It takes a while to get used to the text input if you are used to Nokia phones. After reading the other reviews against the phone i wasn't sure whether to buy it but i took the risk and it is very good. I don't know what all the people who gave it a bad review were on about! It works fine and the bluetooth feature is very useful when sending pictures to other phones. A good phone You won't be disapointed
Thumbs up for T68i September 17, 2003 Vin 5 out of 8 found this review helpful
I'm very pleased with this phone, people still buy it now even though it's quite old. This phone's easy to use (to me anyway), stylish, packed with features and has a colour screen. The only things i wish my phone had are polyphonic ringtones, was java enabled and more colours in the screen e.g 65, 000. Overall i'm very pleased with this phone and recomend it to anyone, but if you want the very lastest phone with everything, i recommend a different phone like the Z600 as the T68i is quite old.
